Overview

The HRD Integrated Services High Voltage Signal Recipient course is a professional development course that assists with HV switching and receives an Electrical Access Permit (EAP). The HVSR also monitors the work party to ensure that personnel do not breach the conditions of access as stated on the EAP.

Knowledge of electrical safe working practices and Work Health and Safety (WHS) principles form an integral part of this course. Refresher training is required every 3 years.

Learning Outcomes

The HVSR training course provides participants with knowledge of the railway signalling HV systems and procedures to:

  • state the operation of HV apparatus and protection devices listed on an EAP
  • interpret HV plans and the protection provided by an EAP
  • identify the protection provided by an Authorised Operator
  • receive and relinquish an EAP
