Overview

The UETDRMP007 Perform Rescue from a Live Low Voltage Panel course and CPR training is for personnel required to work on or near low voltage (LV) and high voltage (HV) apparatus. This course satisfies rail HV requirements and is therefore suitable for signal maintainers and HV operators. This course also meet general electrical industry requirements for responding to an incident involving electrical apparatus.

Course Content

  • Apply work procedures and instructions as they apply to risk control and personal safety
  • Inspect and place a rescue kit to facilitate prompt rescue of a victim from live LV apparatus
  • Identify the isolation point in accordance with workplace procedures
  • Isolate the electricity supply (where possible) using the appropriate apparatus
  • Remove the victim from contact with live LV conductors/apparatus according to workplace procedure
  • Facilitate treatment by emergency services and/or performing CPR on the casualty

Learning Outcomes

Participant will the the knowledge and kills appropriate to:

  • hazard identification and implementing control measures for working on or near live LV apparatus - including maintaining safe approach distance appropriate to LV rescue
  • preparing for and responding to an emergency situation
