Both HRD and its employer clients have performance and participation expectations of learners undertaking rail signalling training or training in rail infrastructure or high voltage. Therefore, HRD only permits the use of mobile phones and smart devices during breaks.

You must SWITCH OFF smart phones and like devices. Do not access them during class unless HRD authorises them for research or legitimate learning.

These expectations ensure a safe, respectful learning environment free of distractions.

Performance expectations

Employers have indicated their support for the Smart Device Policy. All learners are expected to accept responsibility for keeping the learning environment free of disruptions, Those in breach of this Policy will receive a caution, with subsequent offences reported to their employer.
